Minutes

The meeting was called to order at 7:05 pm.

Bradd explained that the city is negotiating with LES regarding ornamental lighting in neighborhoods. He expects the issue will be resolved soon, but probably not soon enough to get started on the streetscape improvement project before Spring.

Thanks to work by Urban Development there is tentatively some money available from the [http://www.neded.org/ Nebraska Department of Economic Development] for housing stock improvement. It will likely be made available to owner occupants in the form of low or no interest, forgivable loans. (There may also be loans available to investor owners, some forgivable.) Help administering this program will come from Steve Werthmann, director of Housing and Rehabilitation for Urban Development, and Sean McClatchy. More information will be available soon...

Urban Development has carried the ball the final yards, and completed the Focus Area housing survey. This puts us closer to completion on the Focus Area Plan publication, which will be available through the wiki when it's ready.

A few properties in need of city attention were discussed. Mostly, the properties discussed were considered to be "under control", but continued monitoring would be beneficial. (Contact MichaelCornelius for exact addresses.)

There was consensus within the committee that there would be little value in a downzoning effort in Hartley Neighborhood, considering the neighborhood is currently zoned most R-4, with pockets of R-5 and R-6.

The proposed [http://www.lincoln.ne.gov/city/plan/pcagenda/reports/101106/sp06053.pdf special permit] applied for by El Rancho to sell liquor of on-premise consumption was considered, and no objection was raised.

The meeting adjourned at approximately 8 pm.
